The Order of the Byzantine Knights of the Holy Sepulchre
Ordre des Chevaliers du Saint-Sépulcre Byzantin

As a special type of human community, the life of the Order is based on a traditional custom and order. The postulant enters the vita nova of knighthood by receiving the sacrament of dubbing from a consecrated knight after a prior period of mutual examination. The realisation of this vita nova traditionally is based on his own independent self-responsibility. In accordance with its history and its character, the Order of Knights renounces strict regulations but instead builds up on freedom, responsibility and idealism of each of its knights: Where there is a knight, there is the Order.
The pillars on which the community of the Order builds up are deep mutual respect, the common practising of the Christian religion, the cultivation of knightly traditions, a comprehension of honour, bravery, and brotherly love. To carry out its cultural, ecclesiastical-ecumenical and charitable tasks, the Order confides in the voluntary support of its members as well as on third-party donations. In case a companion knight himself needs counsel, help or moral assistance, he will always find a willing listener among the brethren of the Order.
